Conn "Shooting Stars" model, #L56308 (1968)
Ok folks, it's time to start calling this former student model a vintage sax, because it is finally being recognized as one. And it's cheap at that (I mean inexpensive). Made with great metal, a heavy horn, a horn with some weight; it plays with a great sound. It's what the 6M became in the late 1960's. Made in the good old USA, Elkhart, Indiana; former capital of the instrument manufacturing business; before Conn headed south. This one came to us with essentially New Pads(!). It's been serviced and plays great. Lacquer is in good condition as well, although neck (with no pull down) is spotty. Fair price.

JEAN BAPTISTE
Jean Baptiste JBL180AL Student alto
This is the new addition of Jean Baptiste student altos with several pro-like features including lacquered keys, alternate high F#, strong bell body brace, adjustable right thumb rest, Bell key risers (adjustable screws controlling the height of the bell keys), streamlined pro like action in the keys, metal convex like resonators, made with a heavy brass alloy, strong vibrant sound. These are on the rise! They’re not anywhere like the flimsy older J.B.’s from the 1990’s. Solid student/intermediate like sax. We have 2 in stock that are like new, with little if any use on them. Brand new these go for anywhere from $700-900; sold here much less expensively at $425
